My creative process when creating items for sale is highly variable. Which is the fancy way of saying I make it up as I go!
Typically it starts with discovering an outstanding piece of wood. Its purpose - what it wants to be - just pops into my head and I go from there! As the creative process evolves I find that frequently the end product is entirely different than how the initial design started.
My pieces are meant to make an impression. Much like art - I want viewers to feel compelled to touch the wood and interact with it. I specialize in unique, one-of-a-kind designs made from beautiful hardwoods.
How do Custom Orders Work?
Custom orders allow me to tap into my creative instincts to craft functional art, specifically designed for you. My goal is for you to have a wood element that fits perfectly into your life and space like it was meant to be there. I love collaborating with clients to create one-of-a-kind, custom wood pieces. If you have a vision in mind but aren't finding it in stores, let's chat!
The process is simple:
Reach out with your vision including size, space/placement, budget, uses, and aesthetic preferences
I'll provide some initial sketches or concepts for feedback
We'll finalize the design details before I begin careful, hands-on construction
Stay updated on progress with photos and chance for feedback if any adjustments are needed
I deliver and personally install the completed piece in your home or business - we offer free delivery within the Chicagoland area
